The home uses Ecobee smart thermostats. They handle most of the work automatically — here's what you need to know.
Recommended: 74–76°F daytime · 68–70°F overnight. The home is well-insulated and reaches temp quickly.
The thermostat has two preset schedules — no action needed from you:
If you wake up feeling cool, this is intentional — it's set for optimal sleep. Adjust anytime if you prefer warmer nights.
Each afternoon around noon–2pm, the thermostat cools the home slightly below your setpoint. This "pre-cools" the house so it stays comfortable during the 2–7pm super-peak electricity window without running the AC hard.
You may notice it feels a touch cool — this is intentional and brief.
Small Ecobee sensors sit on dressers and surfaces throughout most rooms. They monitor temperature to help the system balance the whole home evenly. Please leave them in place — they're important to the system and easy to knock over accidentally.
Controlled through the ScreenLogic app or the panel just inside the back door.
Prefer buttons? The wall panel just inside the back door works identically.
Runs on a schedule automatically. Leave as-is. If the pool looks cloudy, verify it shows On in the app.
Tap Features in ScreenLogic, then toggle the Blower. It shuts off automatically after a set time.
Heating the pool consumes a significant amount of propane and must be planned in advance. Please do not adjust pool heating unless you have paid for this option and received approval from the owners.

Spa heating is included — see below for instructions.
In ScreenLogic, tap Lights to toggle on/off. Tap the light icon repeatedly to cycle through color modes. LED lights — feel free to leave them on all evening.
The spillover (spa-to-pool waterfall) and deck features are in the Features section of ScreenLogic. Toggle each on or off individually — great for ambiance without heating anything.
The home is solar + battery powered and grid-connected. A little timing awareness helps — but the house handles most of it automatically. Totally optional!
The following don't draw from the electrical grid at all:
Propane tanks are monitored remotely and refilled automatically by Branch Propane. You should never run out — but let us know if a burner won't light.
Mornings work well. Afternoons are usually fine too — the batteries and solar handle it on sunny days. If it's cloudy, try to avoid 2–7pm super-peak.
Mid-morning is ideal. After 7pm post-dinner also works great.
EV charging requires pre-payment and approval. If you've arranged this, 11pm–7am is the ideal overnight window — lowest grid rates and no solar needed. Please don't use the EV charger without prior authorization.
Between noon and 2pm, the thermostat pre-cools the home 1–2°F below your setpoint. This "thermal battery" effect keeps you comfortable during 2–7pm super-peak without the AC running hard. It returns to your setpoint by late afternoon.
